Citizen CL-S631II — a small label with a lot on it

When a batch code, a date, an ingredient list and a barcode all have to fit on a 30 mm label, 203 dpi starts running out: the text blurs and the scanner needs a second attempt. The CL-S631II prints at 300 dots per inch, half again the density. In practice the smallest readable font gets smaller and a dense 2D code scans first time.

Same chassis, finer printhead

Mechanically this is the CL-S621II: 118 mm media, 104 mm print width, thermal transfer and direct thermal, EPL, ZPL and Datamax command sets. If you already run a CL-S621II elsewhere, the consumables and the software settings carry over.

The resolution costs no speed

Print speed is 100 mm/s, the same as the 203 dpi model. The finer head does not slow the work down; it only asks for a more carefully matched ribbon.

Specifications

Before you order: ribbon and label stock are ordered separately. A 300 dpi head needs a more closely matched ribbon than a 203 dpi one — tell us the material and the application and we will pick the pairing for you.

A good fit for

Food and cosmetics production, laboratories and pharmacies, and spare-parts stores — anywhere the label is small and the mandatory information is not. Also right when a product label carries a logo or fine graphics. Not a fit if you print address and shelf labels in large type: the CL-S621II does that for less, and a dispatch bench alone is well served by the CL-S521II. Prices incl. VAT.
