## Description

The ICUSB232PROC adds an RS232 serial port (DB9 male) to a USB-C port and stores its assigned COM port number in its own memory. Your POS software settings stay intact even when the cable is unplugged and moved to another port.

### The same COM port every time

Many POS applications are set to use a fixed COM port for the receipt printer or cash drawer. This adapter saves the port number in non-volatile memory and reassigns it when reconnected, even to a different USB port. That avoids a printer suddenly going silent in the middle of the day.

### Older serial devices on a USB-C computer

The Prolific PL2303GT chipset supports up to 921.6 kbps with a 512-byte FIFO buffer. The adapter is USB bus powered, and the DB9 end has screw locks that keep the connection in place.
