Zebra ZT421 – a label printer built for daily heavy use

The Zebra ZT421 is a midrange thermal transfer label printer designed to keep up with demanding print volumes in retail, warehousing, or workshop environments. When you need to push through a large batch of labels without stopping, this printer keeps pace without complaints.

Prints without interruption

At up to 305 mm/s, even sizeable label runs finish quickly — the queue doesn't back up while your team waits at the counter or packing station. Print resolution is 203 dpi (8 dots/mm), which covers barcodes, address labels, and product tags cleanly. Maximum media width is 178 mm with a print width of up to 168 mm, so there's room for a wide range of label sizes.

The automatic cutter separates each label for you — no tearing or scissors required. This matters most when you're cycling through several different label sizes or formats in a single session.

Status at a glance

The colour touchscreen shows you what's happening without hunting through menus: paper low, error state, roll remaining. The real-time clock (RTC) keeps timestamp-based labels accurate automatically, so date and time fields don't need manual correction after a power cycle.

Connects to almost any setup

Two USB ports, RS232 serial, Ethernet, and Bluetooth mean the ZT421 fits into most existing till systems or back-office computers without a workaround. Emulation support for EPL, ZPL, and ZPLII means it works with the most common label software out of the box — no extra configuration in most cases.
