The Zebra ZD421 is a compact direct-thermal desktop label printer built for daily, heavy use in shops, workshops, and restaurants. It sits comfortably on a counter or stockroom shelf without getting in the way, and keeps printing reliably even when the afternoon rush hits.

At 300 dpi (12 dots/mm), barcodes, price tags, and address labels come out crisp and scannable every time. Maximum media width is 108 mm and print speed reaches 102 mm/s — enough to keep the queue moving without staff standing idle at the printer.

Connects to your till or back-office system without adapters

The ZD421 includes USB, USB Host, Bluetooth 5.2, and Wi-Fi 802.11ax, so it fits into almost any existing setup without extra hardware. Print directly from a PC, tablet, or point-of-sale system — wired or wireless, whichever suits your workflow. The USB Host port also lets you print straight from a USB stick or a connected barcode scanner when needed.

Real-time clock keeps timestamps accurate

The built-in real-time clock (RTC) records the correct time and date on every label automatically — no manual setup required. Particularly useful for food labelling, where a printed date isn't optional.

Practical details that matter on a busy shift

Black Mark and Gap sensors detect the start and end of each label automatically, so manual calibration is rarely needed. The maximum label roll diameter is 127 mm, which means fewer roll changes even during high-volume runs.
