About
Zebra ZD421 – Label Printing That Keeps Pace With Your Day
The Zebra ZD421 is a compact desktop direct thermal label printer designed to handle daily workloads without needing constant attention. Whether you're printing price tags in a retail shop, order labels in a café kitchen, or job tickets in a workshop, the ZD421 gets it done and stays out of your way.
Sharp Enough for Barcodes, Fast Enough for Busy Days
At 300 dpi (12 dots/mm), barcodes and small text print clearly and scan reliably — no squinting, no rescans at the till. The maximum print speed of 102 mm/s means labels come out quickly even when the lunchtime rush hits. Maximum media width is 108 mm and maximum roll diameter is 127 mm, so the printer accepts the label sizes most small businesses already use.
Connect by Cable or From Your Phone
The ZD421 has USB, USB Host, and Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) built in. You can connect it to a laptop or desktop as usual, or send a print job straight from your phone — handy on the shop floor or in a stockroom where you're not always at a desk. The USB Host port lets you plug a barcode scanner directly into the printer, so you can scan and print without a computer in the loop at all.
Real-Time Clock Stamps Every Label Correctly
The built-in real-time clock (RTC) records the correct time on labels and print events automatically. If you run a food business and need best-before dates printed accurately without manual entry, this is the feature that removes the guesswork — and the mistakes.
Sensors That Get the Alignment Right Every Time
Black Mark Sensor and Gap Sensor detect label gaps and registration marks automatically, so each label prints in exactly the right position. You won't waste a roll chasing an alignment problem.
Enough Memory to Store Your Templates Locally
With 256 MB RAM and 512 MB Flash storage, the ZD421 holds multiple label templates on board. If your network goes down briefly, printing continues from local storage — no interruption, no queue piling up.
What's in the Box

The ZD421 sits quietly on the counter in grey, does its job day after day, and gives you one less thing to think about.
