About
Zebra ZD421 – a label printer that holds up in daily use
The Zebra ZD421 is a desktop thermal-transfer label printer built for everyday use in cafés, shops, and workshops. Whether you need price tags on products, shipping labels on packages, or job sheets for customers, this printer handles it without fuss.
Prints when you need it to
With a maximum print width of 104 mm and a print speed of up to 152 mm/s, it keeps up even when the morning rush hits and the label queue is long. The cartridge-based ribbon system means you swap materials quickly and cleanly — no ink on your hands, no downtime at the counter. The maximum roll diameter is 127 mm, so a single roll goes further before you need to reload.
Connects to the equipment you already have
The ZD421 connects to a computer via USB-B or wirelessly via Bluetooth (BLE), so you can pair it with a tablet or phone without running cables across the counter. The USB Host port lets you plug in a barcode scanner directly to the printer — one fewer cable to account for.
Sharp, automatic label detection
203 dpi resolution keeps barcodes and text crisp and readable. The built-in Black Mark Sensor and Gap Sensor automatically detect the correct position on the label roll, so every label feeds from exactly the right spot. No wasted labels, no misprints.
Real-time clock keeps your labels accurate
The built-in real-time clock (RTC) stamps each printout with the correct date and time. Handy in a shop setting where price labels or best-before dates need an automatic timestamp — set it once and it takes care of itself.
Works with your existing software
The printer supports EPLII and ZPLII emulation as well as XML, which means it fits with most point-of-sale systems and inventory management software without extra conversion steps or middleware.
