Zebra ZD421 – Label Printer for Everyday Business Use

The Zebra ZD421 is designed to run day after day without demanding your attention. The cartridge-based thermal transfer mechanism means changing the ribbon is quick and requires no special skills — it works much like dropping a new cartridge into any office printer.

Prints What You Need

Print resolution is 203 dpi (8 dots/mm), which is more than enough for clean barcodes, price labels, and shipping stickers. Maximum print speed is 152 mm/s, so even larger label batches are done before they become a bottleneck. Media width reaches 118 mm and print width 104 mm, covering the most common label sizes used in retail, stockrooms, and at the counter.

Connections That Work With Your Setup

The ZD421 offers four ways to connect: USB (Type B), USB Host, Bluetooth Low Energy, and Ethernet. Wire it directly into your POS system or connect wirelessly — both options work. The Ethernet port makes it straightforward to share the printer across several workstations on the same network, with no extra hardware needed.

The built-in real-time clock (RTC) keeps the date and time accurate even after the printer has been switched off, so your labels always carry the right timestamp.

Works With Your Existing Software

The ZD421 supports EPLII, ZPLII, and XML emulation, which in practice means it fits most POS software and label design applications without custom configuration. Memory is 256 MB RAM and 512 MB Flash — enough to store templates and font sets for day-to-day use.

The printer arrives ready to set up: included are a USB cable, power supply unit, and a power cable with both EU and UK plug types. Country of origin is China. Warranty is 36 months.
