About
Zebra Essential Service Contract — five years of cover for your handheld terminal
In a warehouse, shop floor, or workshop, a handheld terminal is not optional equipment. When a TC53 or TC53e goes down, every hour without a working device is an hour of slower operations and frustrated staff. The Zebra Essential Service Contract means that when something goes wrong, it gets fixed quickly — and the bill holds no surprises.
Three-business-day repair turnaround
The contract includes a three-business-day TAT (turnaround time). Send in a faulty device and it comes back repaired within three working days. You do not have to guess how long the repair will take, and there is no separate negotiation over labour or parts costs.
Five years of predictable cover
The contract runs for five years from the date of purchase. It covers both the TC53 and TC53e models, so if you are running a fleet of devices you can protect all of them under a single agreement. A five-year term means a fixed, foreseeable cost that sits cleanly as a line item in your books — no buffer needed for unexpected repair invoices.
Must be purchased within 30 days of the device
Zebra requires the Essential contract to be bought at the same time as the device, or within 30 days at the latest. This is Zebra's standard policy to confirm the device is in good condition when cover begins. The practical advice: add the contract to your order at the same time as the hardware so protection starts from day one.
Built specifically for TC53 and TC53e
The Zebra TC53 and TC53e are widely used handhelds in warehousing, retail, and field service. The Essential contract is designed for exactly these models, so there is no compatibility guesswork involved.
Why a service contract makes sense
Without a contract, a single out-of-warranty repair can cost as much as a replacement unit — sometimes more. With the Essential contract you know from the start what device cover costs each year, and you can treat it as a fixed operating expense. No surprises at the end of the quarter.
