About
Citizen Print Head for CT-S4000 and CT-S4000DT
The print head is the part of a receipt printer that puts the image on paper. When your receipts start coming out faded, striped, or blank in patches, the print head is almost always the cause — not the printer itself. Swapping it out brings your CT-S4000 or CT-S4000DT back to full performance without replacing the whole unit.
This is a genuine Citizen print head, made in Japan. It fits the CT-S4000 and CT-S4000DT directly — no adapters, no extra parts.
Print quality your POS system can rely on
The print head delivers 203 dpi (8 dots/mm), which is the standard resolution for receipt printing. In practice, that means barcodes scan on the first pass and text stays crisp even at smaller font sizes. Your customer gets a clean receipt, and you do not have to reprint.
When is it time to replace the print head?
- Print output is uneven or faded in one area
- Light vertical streaks appear on receipts
- Barcodes are failing to scan reliably
- The printer has been in heavy daily use for several years
A print head is a wear part — like a blade or a ribbon. Replacing it is routine maintenance, not a sign that something is seriously wrong with the printer.
Origin and warranty
Manufactured in Japan by Citizen. The print head carries a three-month warranty.
Installation
In most cases you can replace the print head yourself by following the printer's service guide. If anything is unclear, get in touch with Vaivatta and we will walk you through it together.
