About

Zebra RFD40 UHF RFID Reader — stocktakes done before the afternoon rush

The Zebra RFD40 is a handheld UHF RFID reader and writer built for daily hard use in stockrooms, shop floors, and workshops. Instead of scanning each item one by one with a barcode gun, you sweep an entire shelf and have your count in seconds.

Speed that changes how long stocktaking actually takes

The RFD40 reads up to 1,300 RFID tags per second. In practice, a full shelf or storage bay that used to take twenty minutes with a barcode scanner is done in a fraction of the time — leaving you free to serve customers and run the business rather than count stock.

Connectivity that keeps up without tinkering

The reader supports Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.3. Wi-Fi 6 holds a stable connection even in crowded wireless environments — a busy stockroom with multiple devices online at the same time is not a problem. Bluetooth gives you a working option when there is no fixed WLAN available, so the reader is useful on the shop floor or out in a yard.

Built to take the knocks of daily use

IP54-rated protection means the RFD40 handles dust and splashing liquid without complaint. You do not need to treat it carefully — it is made for the counter, the shelf, and the loading bay, not a display cabinet.

Reads barcodes too, so you can retire the second device

The built-in SE4100 imager reads standard 1D and 2D barcodes whenever a product does not carry an RFID tag. One device covers both, which means one less thing to charge and one less thing to lose.

Battery that lasts the full shift

The included 7,000 mAh lithium-ion battery runs through a full working shift without needing a mid-count trip to the charger. The battery is swappable, so for longer shifts a spare keeps you going without any downtime.

Ready for European use, no frequency adjustments needed

The RFD40 operates on UHF 865–868 MHz, the band permitted for UHF RFID across Europe. It works straight out of the box in Finland and across the EU without any frequency configuration.
