About
Zebra RFD40 — RFID Reader for Stock-Takes and Inventory
The Zebra RFD40 is a UHF RFID reader that slots into the Premium Sled to form a pistol-grip device. Paired with a compatible Android phone or tablet you already own, you get a fast, durable RFID reading system without buying a dedicated handheld terminal.
It reads on the UHF 865–868 MHz band — the frequency range used across Europe — and handles both reading and writing tags. That means you can identify items and update tag data on the spot, without going back to a desk.
Speed That Makes a Real Difference on the Warehouse Floor
At up to 1,300 tags per second, you can sweep an entire shelf or run through a pallet of goods in moments — no need to scan each item individually at close range. A stock-take that used to take an hour can be done in a fraction of the time, letting you get back to running the business.
Built to Handle a Working Environment
IP54-rated protection means the RFD40 copes with the everyday dust and splashes of a warehouse or stockroom. You do not have to treat it like delicate equipment — use it normally indoors and out without worrying about the odd splash or dusty shelf.
A Full Day's Work on a Single Charge
The included 7,000 mAh lithium-ion battery keeps the device running through a long working day without interruption. No stopping mid-inventory to find a charger or swap a battery on a busy goods-in morning.
Consistent Read Range for Everyday Use
The Standard Range antenna is designed for a predictable, controllable read area — well-suited to retail and warehouse environments where you want to read exactly the tags in front of you without accidentally picking up stock from the next aisle.
Pistol Grip Reduces Fatigue
The Premium Sled Gun form factor — pistol handle and trigger — makes extended scanning noticeably more comfortable. Your hand tires less than when holding a straight sled, and the trigger sits naturally under your index finger without having to adjust your grip.
Warranty and Origin
Comes with a 12-month warranty. Manufactured in Taiwan.
Who Is the RFD40 For?
The RFD40 is a practical choice for small and medium-sized businesses that want to bring RFID-based stock management or inventory into their operation without a large hardware investment.
