About

Datalogic PowerScan PD9531-DPM – Industrial Barcode Scanner with DPM Support

The PowerScan PD9531-DPM is a handheld scanner built for demanding industrial environments. It reads both standard 2D barcodes and Direct Part Mark (DPM) codes — codes laser-etched, stamped, or dot-peened directly onto metal, plastic, or glass surfaces. Where an ordinary scanner gives up, this one keeps working.

High-Density Imaging That Catches Every Detail

The HD imager resolves small, tightly packed code elements with precision. That matters when parts are compact or the marking area is limited — think electronic components, medical devices, or machined metal parts where the code is small but the read has to be right every time.

Connects to Your Existing System Without Fuss

The multi-interface design means the same scanner works over RS232, keyboard wedge (KBW), and USB. Whatever system you already have running on the line or at the desk, the PD9531-DPM adapts to it — no extra adapters, no driver installations. The RS232 cable is included in the box, so you can be up and running straight away.

IP65: Built for the Workshop Floor

IP65-rated protection means the scanner is fully dustproof and protected against water jets. Floor washing, metal swarf, a damp goods-in area — none of these stop the work. The yellow-and-black housing is easy to spot on a busy workbench.

Who Is This For?

The PD9531-DPM makes sense whenever DPM-marked parts sit on your production line or goods-in bench and reading them correctly is a business-critical step. It suits a small machine shop that laser-marks its own components just as well as a warehouse handling industrial subcontract parts that arrive pre-marked.

Datalogic is an established name in industrial scanning, and the PowerScan series is built to take years of daily use. If you want to confirm compatibility with your current ERP or point-of-sale setup, get in touch with Vaivatta and we will check it for you.
