Zebra printhead ZT420, 8 Punkte/mm (203dpi)

About
Zebra ZT420 Printhead, 203 dpi
The printhead is one of the hardest-working — and most wear-prone — parts in any label printer. When print quality starts to fade, streaks appear across your labels, or the printer throws a printhead error, the fix is a replacement part, not a new machine.
This is a genuine Zebra printhead designed specifically for the ZT420 and ZT421 industrial label printer series. Resolution is 203 dpi (8 dots/mm), which handles barcodes, address labels, and product labels cleanly — text and codes stay sharp and scannable without needing microscopic detail.
Compatibility
- Zebra ZT420
- Zebra ZT421
Why fit a genuine Zebra part?
Zebra's own printheads are calibrated to work with the printer's firmware from the start. Third-party parts may keep things moving for a while, but temperature management, sensor calibration, and print consistency are engineered together with the device. A genuine part means reliable, consistent output day after day — not just the first week.
A note on installation
Swapping the printhead on a ZT420-series printer can usually be done without special tools. Zebra's service documentation walks you through each step. If you haven't replaced a printhead before or want to be sure the job is done right, Vaivatta can help — get in touch and we'll sort it out together.
The printhead is manufactured in Thailand and comes with a 12-month warranty.
When should you order?
If your printer runs every day — in a warehouse, a packing area, or on the shop floor — it's worth keeping one spare on the shelf. A printhead that gives out mid-shift stops your labelling operation on the spot. With a spare already in the cupboard, you swap it the same day and keep moving.
