Sapphire glass — still reading clearly years from now

The scan window is made from sapphire glass, which is significantly harder than standard toughened glass. Scratches from rings, belt buckles, or the edge of a trolley won't cloud the lens or degrade read accuracy over time. The IP52 rating means dust and the occasional splash from a coffee cup or cleaning spray won't stop the device.

2D imager reads from a phone screen too

The 3550HSi uses a 2D imager that handles traditional 1D barcodes, QR codes, and other 2D symbologies — including codes displayed directly on a customer's phone screen. That matters when you're running a loyalty programme, accepting gift cards, or scanning digital receipts at the till.

Works with most point-of-sale systems

The scanner supports USB, RS232, and IBM interfaces, so it fits into most existing POS setups without needing extra adapters or driver fuss. This kit includes a 4.5 m USB cable, power supply unit, EU power cable, and mounting frame — everything you need to go from box to counter.

Micro SD slot for local storage

A micro SD card slot is built in for local data storage when your POS system needs it — useful for local logging or storing configuration files without routing everything through a server.
