Star MCP31CBI – Receipt Printer for Busy Cafés and Restaurants

The Star MCP31CBI is a single-station direct thermal receipt printer built to handle the daily grind behind a busy counter. Receipts exit from the front of the unit, and the automatic cutter trims each one cleanly — no tearing, no pile-up, no fumbling during the Friday evening rush.

Fast enough that the queue keeps moving

At 400 mm/s, the receipt is in your customer's hand before you've finished taking the next order. Print resolution is 203 dpi (8 dots/mm), so text and barcodes come out sharp and readable every time — no squinting, no reprints.

Connects to however your till is set up

Four connection options mean this printer fits your existing setup rather than forcing a change:

• ·USB (Type A) — straightforward cable connection to your POS
• ·USB-C — ready for newer tablets and terminals
• ·Bluetooth — wireless when cables get in the way
• ·Ethernet — fixed network connection for counters with a wired setup

MQTT support lets you monitor and manage the printer over the network — useful if you run more than one location or simply want to keep an eye on device status without walking to the counter.

Cash drawer opens automatically

The built-in drawer kickout drives your cash drawer directly from the printer. No separate cable to the POS software, no extra configuration — the drawer opens when the receipt prints.
