Star mPOP – Cash Drawer and Receipt Printer in One

When counter space is tight, two separate devices is one too many. The Star mPOP puts a front-opening cash drawer and a direct thermal receipt printer into a single 308 × 100 × 300 mm unit. It fits neatly into the corner of a café counter, a retail service desk, or beside a bar till without taking over the workspace.

How it works day to day

Because the printer and drawer share one body, receipts go straight to the customer with no cables running between two boxes. Direct thermal printing means no ink cartridges to replace — load a paper roll and it prints. At up to 100 mm per second, it keeps up comfortably through your busiest Friday-evening rush.

The cash tray handles four note slots, six or eight coin compartments, and a dedicated cheque slot. Whatever mix of payment methods your customers use, the basics are covered.

Connecting to your iPad or other devices

The built-in USB-C port connects directly to an iPad — no adapter needed. Two USB-A host ports at 1.5 A and two at 0.5 A give you room to add a barcode scanner or other peripheral without hunting for a hub. A slave USB port covers connection via a laptop or desktop if your setup calls for it.

Everything you need to get started is in the box: a power cable with both EU and UK plugs, a white USB-C cable, and a double-sided tablet holder. Your iPad has a home on the counter from day one — no extra bracket to track down.
