Star Micronics SK5-31UE — Kiosk Receipt Printer for Professional Use

The Star Micronics SK5-31UE is a thermal receipt printer designed specifically for kiosk installations. It has a built-in auto-cutter and presenter, and is manufactured in Japan — built for environments where the printer runs day after day without a break: checkout points, self-service kiosks, and ticketing counters.

Keeps the queue moving

At up to 250 mm/s, receipts are in the customer's hand before the next person steps up. The auto-cutter makes a clean cut after every print, and the presenter extends the receipt outward so it's ready to take — no paper dangling from the roll, no customer fumbling at the counter.

Built to fit inside your setup

The SK5-31UE uses an installation printing mechanism, which means it is designed to be embedded inside a kiosk cabinet or mounted under a counter. Where a standard desktop printer won't fit or won't stay put, this one will. The maximum paper roll width is 82.5 mm and the maximum roll diameter is 150 mm — enough paper to get through a long trading day without a mid-shift roll change.

Connects to your till, however it's wired

The printer supports both USB and Ethernet. If your point-of-sale system runs over a network, the Ethernet connection keeps the printer reachable even when there's no USB port close by. USB works directly from a computer or till terminal with nothing extra in between.

The Black Mark Sensor detects pre-marked paper automatically, so printing always starts at the right position. That matters if you use pre-printed receipt rolls with your logo or service instructions already on them.

Resolution, warranty, and origin

Print resolution is 8 dots/mm (203 dpi) — sharp enough for barcodes, QR codes, and small text on receipts. The printer is manufactured in Japan and comes with a 12-month warranty.
