Elo I-Series 5 Steel – touchscreen POS terminal for cafés, restaurants, and retailers

The Elo I-Series 5 Steel is a compact all-in-one POS system designed to take the punishment of a busy counter day after day. Its steel chassis stays put when things get hectic — and it replaces both a separate computer and a monitor in one unit.

Screen and touch

The 10.1-inch (25.7 cm) Projected Capacitive touchscreen recognises up to ten simultaneous touch points and responds in 30 ms, so nothing lags when you're ringing up a queue. Resolution is 1920 × 1200 pixels, brightness reaches 387 cd/m², and the 160°/160° (H/V) viewing angle keeps the display readable from the side of the counter — useful when a colleague or customer glances across.

Connectivity

The terminal connects via Gigabit Ethernet for a stable wired setup, or Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax) when running a cable isn't practical. Bluetooth is built in. USB-A and USB-C ports let you plug in a receipt printer, barcode scanner, or card reader directly — no extra adapters needed.

Performance and operating system

Powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon QCS6490 processor with 8 GB RAM and 64 GB of flash storage, the unit handles POS software without hesitation. Android 14 with Google Mobile Services certification means your POS app from the Play Store installs and runs as expected — no workarounds, no side-loading.

Built to last on the counter

The steel body handles knocks better than plastic-shell alternatives. IP54 protection on the unit guards against splashes and dust at the till, and the connector panel carries an IP65 rating. Spilled coffee or a damp cloth during cleaning won't take the terminal down.

Mounting and setup

VESA 75 × 75 mm mounting means you can fix the unit to a wall bracket, an arm, or a dedicated stand. The box includes a power supply unit and power cables for both EU and US sockets. Note: this model does not support Power over Ethernet — it runs from the included mains adapter.
