The Zebra DS8288-HC is a professional cordless barcode scanner that works two ways: set it in its cradle on the counter and it reads barcodes hands-free, or lift it out and it switches to wireless handheld use without missing a beat.

This kit includes the DS8288-HCMF00BVMWWn scanner, a CBA-U21-S07ZBR shielded USB cable, and a CR8288-PC100FBWW presentation cradle — everything you need to get scanning on day one.

How it fits into your working day

Place the cradle next to your till and the scanner works automatically as a presentation reader — no button presses, no fiddling. When you need to scan something awkward on a shelf or in a back room, pull the scanner out and carry on wirelessly. Vibration feedback confirms every successful read even when the counter is noisy or you have the sound turned off.

The shielded USB cable keeps the connection solid through a busy Friday lunch service. Loose connections mid-transaction are not something you will deal with here.

Getting it running

Plug the USB cable into your point-of-sale system, set the scanner in the cradle, and it is ready to go. Zebra drivers are available from the manufacturer's site. If you run into anything during setup, contact Vaivatta and we will sort it out.
