The Zebra DS8178 is a wireless Bluetooth barcode scanner built to handle the daily demands of a shop floor, stockroom, or workshop. It reads both 1D and 2D barcodes reliably at standard range, so your staff can scan without fussing over angles — at the till or between the shelves.

Wireless freedom, stable connection

The Bluetooth connection keeps the scanner and your POS or computer in sync without cables getting in the way. Place the scanner in its cradle at the start of a shift and it charges ready for the next use — the connection re-establishes automatically, no manual pairing required each time.

The kit ships with the charging/transmitter cradle and a USB cable, so you can have it up and running straight out of the box.

Getting set up

The included charging/transmitter cradle (presentation cradle) acts as both a charger and Bluetooth transmitter. Place it near your till or computer, connect the USB cable, and the scanner is ready to use. Driver installation is not usually required with the most common POS systems.
