Reads the difficult barcodes too
The DS8178-HC's 2D imager (standard range) reads both traditional 1D barcodes and 2D codes such as QR and DataMatrix — including codes printed on the curved surface of patient wristbands. In practice, scanning succeeds on the first attempt, which speeds up patient identification and medication administration even during the busiest shifts.
FIPS security built in
The scanner meets FIPS 140-2 security requirements set for handling sensitive health data. The Bluetooth connection is encrypted, so patient information transfers securely into your system without any extra configuration on your end.
