This Datalogic Ethernet Connection Module is built for the BC9600 reader cradle. It adds a stable, wired network connection to the cradle — the right choice for environments where wireless simply isn't consistent enough or where a fixed, managed network is the only sensible option.

Connections and technical details

The module has two interfaces:

• ·Ethernet via M12 connector — an industrial-standard locking connector that won't pull loose in a busy stockroom or shop floor, even when cables take the occasional knock
• ·Power via 5-pin connector — the module requires either a 10–30 VDC external power source or PoE (Power over Ethernet) from a PoE-capable switch

The M12 connector locks by design: twist it in and it stays. That means your connection keeps working even if someone catches the cable in passing.

What it works with

The module is compatible with the Datalogic BC9600 cradle — a charging and communication base for Datalogic Skorpio X and Memor series handheld readers. With the Ethernet module fitted, the cradle connects directly into your network infrastructure, so scanned data moves straight into your system without any wireless hops in between.

Why wired Ethernet makes sense

A fixed network connection earns its place whenever:

• ·You need consistently high throughput that wireless can't guarantee
• ·Your environment has heavy Wi-Fi congestion — a large shop floor or warehouse where the wireless network is already under load
• ·Your IT or security policy requires devices to sit on a fixed, controlled network segment

A wired connection doesn't drop at peak times and doesn't need separate wireless configuration on every device. The cradle is plugged in and working.

Installation and setup

The module attaches to the BC9600 cradle following Datalogic's installation instructions. Before you start, confirm you have the right power source ready: either a 10–30 VDC external supply or a PoE switch that delivers power over the Ethernet cable.
