Epson UB-S09 – Serial Interface Board for Receipt Printers

The Epson UB-S09 is a serial interface board that slots into the expansion bay of a compatible Epson receipt printer. It gives your printer a 9-pin RS-232 serial connection and a DM-D port for connecting a customer display — all without adding cables or power supplies to your counter.

When do you need the UB-S09?

Older point-of-sale systems and some specialised retail software still communicate over a serial port rather than USB or Ethernet. If your till software or POS hardware requires a serial connection, the UB-S09 is the straightforward fix: swap out the printer's current interface card, and your existing POS software carries on without any changes on the software side.

The DM-D connector also lets you attach an Epson customer display directly through the printer itself. No separate power brick, no extra cable run — the display draws what it needs through the one connection.

Installation

The board fits Epson receipt printers that support swappable interface cards. Before ordering, confirm that your printer has a free expansion slot and is listed as compatible with the UB-S09.
