About
Epson TM-U 295 – Dot Matrix Printer for Restaurants and Cafés
The Epson TM-U 295 is a single-station dot matrix printer built for the daily grind of restaurants, cafés, and small retail businesses. Where thermal printers struggle with heat and bright light — think a busy kitchen pass or a sun-facing counter — the TM-U 295 keeps printing without complaint. Dot matrix technology means the print mechanism is not sensitive to temperature or ambient light, so your order slips come out readable whether the kitchen is cool at noon or steaming at Saturday dinner service.
Connects straight to your existing setup
The TM-U 295 uses an RS232 serial interface and supports the ESC/POS command language — the standard that the vast majority of point-of-sale systems already speak. In practice, this means the printer works with most existing till systems without hunting for obscure drivers or spending an evening on configuration. If your current setup already runs RS232, you can have this printer working the same day it arrives.
Maximum print speed is 2.1 lps and print width goes up to 65 mm — enough for clean, readable order tickets and receipts even when the orders are coming in fast. The print quality holds up in a busy queue, so kitchen staff can read tickets without squinting.
What to check before you order
This model ships without an interface cable or power supply unit — both need to be ordered separately. Before installation, make sure you have a compatible RS232 cable for your till system and the right power supply. Vaivatta carries compatible accessories, and we are happy to help you pick the right ones before you order so the printer is ready to go the moment it arrives.
Warranty and origin
Comes with a 12-month Epson warranty. Country of origin: China.
