CipherLab RS38 – Rugged Handheld for Demanding Barcode Work

The CipherLab RS38 is an Android-based portable data collection terminal built to handle the daily wear of warehouses, shop floors, and field operations. At its core is the Honeywell SE4770 imager, which reads 2D barcodes and QR codes quickly — even from scuffed, smudged, or awkwardly angled surfaces. Scanning doesn't slow down because a label has seen better days.

Screen and Usability

The 6-inch Full HD+ display (1080 × 2160 pixels) uses Projected Capacitive multi-touch technology. It stays readable under warehouse lighting and responds to touch even when you're wearing gloves. At this size, your apps stay legible without constant zooming — one less thing to wrestle with during a busy shift.

Connectivity

The RS38 supports 5G mobile networks and Wi-Fi 6E, so data stays fast whether you're inside a large warehouse or working outdoors. Bluetooth 5.2 pairs a wireless headset or peripheral scanner without fuss, and NFC handles contactless payments or tag reads with a single tap. USB-C covers both charging and file transfer.

A Qualcomm Octa Core processor running at 2.4 GHz keeps Android applications running smoothly even under load. With 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of internal Flash storage, the device handles demanding workflows without hesitation. A microSD slot lets you expand storage further if your operation needs it.
